碧昂絲過去是三重唱R&B女子團體天命真女的主音及隊長，當團體成功後，她在2003年推出了首張個人專輯《危險愛情》，為當年最成功的專輯之一，成為美國及英國排行榜首名位置，其中歌曲〈Crazy in Love〉和〈Baby Boy〉成績亦十分驚人，為碧昂絲贏得五項格林美獎。碧昂絲的第二張專輯《B'Day》在她本人的25歲生日2006年9月4日推出，專輯包括了英國榜第一位的〈Déjà Vu〉和〈Ring the Alarm〉，以及告示牌100大的第一位歌曲〈Irreplaceable〉。
