臨終關懷（英文：hospice或palliative care）又稱安寧緩和醫療、善終服務、「安寧療護」。整治療方法大多針對癌症末期病患者。末期患者大多由於治療不會再見效，相反只會令患者的性命延長，從而飽受更多痛苦。因為物理上的治療已經無法再有效果，所以便發明出善終服務的治療方法。 善終服務於1967年由英國藉的西西里．桑德斯醫師引起。治療方法並不是傳統採用藥物、物理治療的方法，而是在心靈層面上提供照顧。整治療方法理論上不會延長病人的瀕死期，而其目的係為提升患者在臨終前的生活品質。治療會在社會上、心理上、靈性上提供治療。在心理上的照顧下，除了患者的痛苦可以減輕，同時亦能減緩家屬的心理創傷及痛苦。採用善終服務後，患者能夠比以前更安詳、有尊嚴地離世。

人的體質有寒熱之分，食物也有。中國中醫科學院養生學教授楊力就告訴《生命時報》記者，一般情況下，可從食物的顏色、味道、生長環境、地理位置、生長季節幾方面來辨其寒熱。
顏色偏綠，性偏寒；顏色偏紅，性偏溫。綠色植物接近地面，吸收地面濕氣，故而性偏寒，如綠豆、綠色蔬菜等。顏色偏紅的植物，如辣椒、棗、石榴等，雖與地面接近生長，但果實能吸收較多的陽光，故而性偏熱。
味苦、味酸的食品偏寒；味甜、味辛的食品性熱。味苦、味酸的食物性寒，如苦瓜、苦菜、芋頭、梅子、木瓜等。味辛、味甜者，由于接受陽光照射的時間較長，所以性熱，如大蒜、柿子、石榴等。
水生植物偏寒；陸上植物偏熱。藕、海帶、紫菜等為寒性。而長在陸地中的食物，如花生、土豆、山藥、姜等，由于長期埋在土壤中，水分較少，故而性熱。
背陰食物偏寒；向陽植物偏熱。背陰朝北的食物吸收的濕氣重，很少見到陽光，故而性偏寒，比如蘑菇、木耳等。而生長在空中或有向陽性的食物，比如向日葵、栗子等，由于接受光照充足，故性偏熱。

【大紀元11月3日訊】秋天雨水少，空氣乾燥，細菌增多，各種毛病也就多了。按中醫說法「秋主燥」，燥邪首先犯肺，先傷肺津，次傷胃津，人容易口乾鼻燥、皮膚乾裂、目赤牙痛、外感咳嗽。所以這段時間，感冒的，腸胃不好的人也比較多。
大自然早就開好了對症的藥方，這個時節上市的新鮮水果蔬菜，比如梨、甘蔗、柿子……針對各種毛病，各具療效。
秋燥犯肺，所以秋季咳嗽的人特別多，哮喘等呼吸道也易多發，秋季好多水果恰有止咳效果，其中最受推薦的是梨。梨有清熱解毒，潤肺生津、止咳化痰等功效，對肺熱咳嗽、麻疹及老年咳嗽、支氣管炎等症有較好的治療效果。若與荸薺、蜂蜜、甘蔗等搾汁同服，效果更佳。
其他的水果也有不同療效，比如柑橘對身體虛弱、口渴等症效果不錯，搾汁或蜜煎，治療肺熱咳嗽尤佳。吃新鮮的生柿子，則對咳嗽痰多、虛勞咯血等症有良效，紅軟的熟柿子，可治療熱病煩渴、口乾唇爛、心中煩熱等症。而多吃葡萄不僅生津液、利小便，對神經衰弱和過度疲勞都有好處。
